Move your data to a new computer or phone
Because your data lives in one browser on one device, moving is a two-minute job with one backup file.
Step by step
- On the old device: save a backup file. My data › Save a backup file.
- Copy the file. Pen drive, Google Drive, e-mail, or WhatsApp to yourself.
- On the new device: open my.niveshsahayak.in. In Chrome or Edge (a normal window, not private).
- Restore. Restore from a backup file and choose the file. Everything is back: businesses, parties, items, documents, money entries, stock and settings.
- On a computer, switch on auto save. See one auto save.
Worked example
The accountant works on a laptop at home and the shop uses a desktop. Each evening the shop saves a backup to the shared Google Drive folder; the accountant restores it in the morning. Both see the same bills (only one should type new entries at a time, then send a backup back).
Common mistakes and how to fix them
- Typing on both devices at once. There is no live sync. Work on one device, then move the newest backup to the other.
