Send your accountant one file
Instead of sending bills one by one, make one file with the registers in Excel, Tally import files and your documents for the period your accountant needs.
Step by step
- Open it. My data › Backup and other devices › Make the file for my accountant.
- Choose the business and the period. Last month, This month, Last quarter, This quarter, a financial year, or Choose dates.
- Tick what goes in. Registers in Excel (sales, purchases, money in and out, HSN summary, party balances), Tally import files (masters and vouchers), and the documents themselves as a backup file, optionally locked with a password.
- Make the file, then Share or Save the file. It is a .zip made on this device; a READ-ME inside says what each file is. You send it yourself by WhatsApp, e-mail or pen drive.
Worked example
On 5 November you make the file for October: sales and purchase registers, Tally files and the October documents. Your accountant files GSTR-1 by 11 November from it.
Common mistakes and how to fix them
- Sending a full backup instead. A backup holds everything, including other businesses. Send the accountant file for just their work.
