Recycle bin and edit history
Deleting in Nivesh Sahayak is never final at once: deleted records go to the Recycle bin for 30 days. Every change is also written in the Edit history, as an auditor expects.
Step by step
- Restore a deleted record. My data › Recycle bin: deleted businesses, parties, items and documents stay there for 30 days. Press Restore to put one back as it was.
- See all changes. My data › Edit history: every change in date order.
- See one record's changes. Press Changes on any business, party, item or document.
- Export. App › Reports to Excel › Edit history.
Worked example
An invoice total changed from ₹8,024 to ₹6,800 last week. Press Changes on it: it shows the date and time of the edit and the old and new values.
Rules and dates
Companies must keep an audit trail (edit log) that cannot be switched off, for accounting software used from 1 April 2023 (Companies (Accounts) Rules, rule 3(1)). Ask your auditor if the browser-based log is enough for you.
Common mistakes and how to fix them
- Using Delete everything to start again. It removes everything from this browser. Save a backup file first.
